Asheville NC Mountain Vacation Rentals

The North Carolina mountains are made for hiking. Wander through the woods, catch a view from the top, and head back to the cabin worn out in the best way. Then light the firepit, roast some marshmallows, and stay up talking with your people until the stars come out. It's a good place to get outside, slow down, and make a few memories.

"We loved our stay here. The location is private and quiet which made for a peaceful stay. It was just three of us - Me (Mom) and my teens (16 & 15). My teenagers loved the air hockey table and the fact that we each had our own floor. I loved the quiet mornings sipping coffee, journaling, and reading on the deck while listening to the creek in the back. The hot tub was awesome with a pink sky at sunset. Being in good proximity to both Asheville and just a little further drive to Great Smoky Mountain National Park was great. We visited both with ease as well as a more local hike so the location is great. It’s a house fit for friends to meet up or families to spend quality time together. Oh and the kitchen was well stocked and if you have small kids and babies, you’ll be well resourced." - Liv

Things to Do in the North Carolina Mountains

  • Float, tube or raft the French Broad River, or spend an afternoon fishing the mountain streams.

Waterfalls & Day Trips

  • Chase waterfalls in DuPont State Forest and Pisgah National Forest, including Triple Falls and Looking Glass Falls.

  • Take a day trip to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure for big views and a swim or boat ride.

Local Attractions

  • Tour the Biltmore Estate, America's largest home, with its gardens and winery.

  • Browse the studios and murals in the River Arts District, then wander downtown Asheville's shops and street musicians.

Dining and Nightlife

  • Try Asheville's craft breweries, which the area is known for, and the farm-to-table restaurants downtown.

  • Catch live music at a local venue like The Orange Peel.

Seasonal Highlights

  • Spring: Wildflowers bloom along the trails and the Parkway.

  • Summer: Cool off at the swimming holes and on the river.

  • Fall: Peak leaf season along the Blue Ridge Parkway is hard to beat.
